Wine & Gourmet
in Western Thrace
We offer you an unforgettable wine tour in Western Thrace, combining wine and culinary tourism. Our carefully selected program offers tastings, themed dinners and lunches where you will meet the passionate winemakers who have continued the centuries-old tradition of growing vines and making wine in these fertile lands.
The Oxford encyclopedia of wine lists Thrace as the birthplace of winemaking. The secret to this is the good "terroir" - the climate, soil and geographical features combined with the skills of the vine growers and winemakers to extract the best from them. Millennia before the drink of the gods found its home in southwestern Europe, ancient authors described the superior qualities of the Thracian elixir. Subsequently, the Romans captured these lands and turned the conquered territories into the most renowned wine-growing region of the Empire.
Following exactly this trail, we will dive together in search of this unique taste and will learn more about the history of wine in Bulgaria, while enjoying fine Bulgarian wines in combination with the most delicious food.
